CER Spot trading requires Letter of Approval

Posted by Sascha Bloemhoff in Trading

In January 2008 the first CER spot trade was executed and cleared on Climex. Because the ITL and CITL are not yet connected, the only possibility to clear the CERs was by using the Swiss Registry. Read more on how to trade CERs on Climex by using the Swiss Registry by clicking here.

The Swiss Register accepts CERs from the CDM Register only if a Letter of Approval from the Swiss Government is enclosed. If there is a Letter of Approval from another country, you will have to wait for the connection between the ITL and the CITL to be able to spot trade these CERs. These CERs cannot be traded through the Swiss Register. To learn more about how to get a Letter of Approval form the Swiss Register please click here.

If you need more information please contact the Climex CSdesk (Tel. 0031 30 291 99 40).
