Buyer is seeking at least 180,000 VERs in Purchase Auction

Again, Climex will be organising a purchase auction for VERs. Buyer will be a Dutch bank who has contracted Climex before to purchase their VERs at auction. The VERs are acquired for internal offsetting purposes.

This Buyer is looking to buy at least 180,000 issued VERs and if the price is interesting enough, the purchase volume can rise up to around 220,000 VERs. The VERs can be from the VCS 2008/2009 and/or Gold Standard but do have to meet a number of requirements.

“What is particularly special about this purchase auction is the potential volume”, says Sascha Bloemhoff, Director of Climex.

Registered sellers who have VERs for sale which will meet the requirements are invited to participate in the auction, which is scheduled for 9 September at 14.00 hours.

A Fact Sheet describing the exact requirements of the Buyer and the VERPA are available and are part of the auction documentation for registered participants. Sellers will have to disclose the project(s) from which the VERs on offer derive upfront before 30 August and if all requirements are met, auction participation will be approved.
The auction will be an open order book descending clock auction, which means the anonymous offers will be visible to all and the auction will start at a maximum price, with prices moving downwards, and will be granted to the lowest offer at closing time.
